Meet our Directors

Dr. Win Wachsmann (Nov. 4 1949 – Dec. 3 2023) – Past Director & co-founder alongside his wife, Carrie. Win had a vision where the marginalized and disabled live in a loving and caring community that fosters their growth and welcomes their contributions. Win was an effective voice and advocate for the disadvantaged. For many years, he coached special olympics soccer and baseball. Win cared deeply and gave generously.

Dr. Carrie WachsmannDirector & co-founder alongside her husband, Win. AFF exists because one of their children had a vaccine-related injury as an infant. Carrie worked at Salvation Army’s Care & Share Centre in Abbotsford for several years as Coordinator for Volunteers and Drop-in Center Manager.

John Parker Director – John has been a well-known business owner in Abbotsford since 1995 (NTC – National Training Centre). In 2001, NTC hosted a presentation at the Centennial Auditorium with the Odd Squad Vancouver Police officers who produced the film Through the Blue Lens.

Minde Wagner Director – Minde is a Sauder School of Business UBC graduate with over twenty years of caregiving experience.


Francis TestaDirector – Francis is a filmmaker and works in the film industry. He comes from a large family and has a brother with severe health impairments.


Glen CuthbertsonDirector – Glen is a superb classical and gospel pianist with severe hearing impairment. He is profoundly deaf in both ears. Glen has experience in teaching music, tuning and restoring pianos, and building harps.
